Recording, Writing, Inspiring…

November 3, 2009

Hello Everyone!

Life seems to stay busy but also very exciting for me these days. Along with being on the road, we have been in the studio working with the amazing Lari Goss. He is a multi-award winning producer who has worked with, The Cathedrals, The Gaither Vocal Band, Larnell Harris, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and many other artists.  We are having a blast recording and I think you all are gonna love the outcome.

I am continuing to write, every spare minute I have, and am excited to have songs coming out on new recordings by, The Hoppers, Karen Peck & New River, Jeff & Sheri Easter, Lauren Talley, Steve Ladd, Sisters and yes, The Booth Brothers.

Melissa and I enjoyed a wonderful concert in Davisburg, MI last week.  We were very blessed and encouraged by the support of many wonderful folks. Thanks so much to all who came out to spend the evening with us!

It’s always good to spend time with family and while in Michigan, I was able to spend a little time with my sister Brenda and her family.  We sang some old songs that we grew up singing in church. I also pulled out my guitar and sang some new songs I’ve been working on. It was a sweet time together!

A sold out concert at South Church in Lansing, MI was the highlight of this past weekend. That evening, a gentleman shared with me how he and his wife, of over 40 years, had been planning to come to the concert together, but that she passed away just 5 weeks ago.  He almost couldn’t bear to come without her, but said he came because he wanted to share with me how “Peace In The Shelter” has brought him the comfort and encouragement that he was desperately needing during this time. Wow!

Stories like that are why we keep climbing on the bus every weekend. Awards and having your songs do well on the charts are great blessings that sometimes come with what we do, but what’s most rewarding is knowing that the songs are touching hearts! So, thank you for coming to the concerts and sharing your stories, you are an encouragement to us!

Blessings to all!!

Jim
