Back from the Cruise!

February 28, 2010

Hello Friends!

Things have sure been interesting for us lately.  The guys have been busy on the road with a pretty hectic schedule and, in addition, have been in the studio putting the finishing touches on what just may be the best Booth Brothers project to date.

There was an unexpected free weekend when we were snowed in, yes, SNOWED IN! The guys had to cancel a whole weekend due to the extreme weather and, I admit, we took advantage of it, hibernating until the worst was over. We enjoyed lots of coffee, tea and hot chocolate, with some games and movies thrown in the mix.  It was a small blessing in the midst of the chaotic weather!

For those of you who suffered the consequences of the snow, rest assured, all of the concerts have been rescheduled and some have already been fulfilled.  That’s our guys, faithfully trudging on.

Last week was filled with sunny days on the Singing At Sea Cruise and boy, did we have a great time! As we pulled into the port, Austin, with nose to the window, kept repeating “Thehh’s my cwuise!”

Jonathan enjoyed some time at Camp Carnival and introduced himself to another boy there by saying “I’m a Booth Brother.” When, at first, the boy didn’t believe him, and said to Jonathan “Prove it!” Jonathan quickly showed his room key (that had his name on it) and proudly declared “See, I AM a Booth Brother!”

As for us girls, we relaxed as often as we could, attended a few concerts and shopped at every opportunity. (Yes, what the guys say about us at the concerts is true, we are very talented shoppers.)  In addition, I made sure to enjoy the molten lava cake as much as possible!

When we reached Nassau, we made sure to visit the local Starbucks.  Jim actually went THREE times! I have to tell you, when I introduced him to coffee, I had no idea he would like it so much! At the first of the year, I suggested that we have some sort of “Starbucks budget.”  Only time will tell if this idea is going work.  So far, not so good!

I experienced a sweet moment when a lady came to me to thank me for sharing Jim.  She reminded me that what we give to God here on earth will be given as crowns to us in heaven which we will then lay at our Savior’s feet.  I was blessed to the point of tears to be reminded that the days I’m without Jim are part of my service to the Lord!  Although circumstances don’t allow us to be at every concert, us wives are there in spirit, cheering and praising with our beloved Booth Brothers!

We Love You All!

Melissa

Recording, Writing, Inspiring…

November 3, 2009

Hello Everyone!

Life seems to stay busy but also very exciting for me these days. Along with being on the road, we have been in the studio working with the amazing Lari Goss. He is a multi-award winning producer who has worked with, The Cathedrals, The Gaither Vocal Band, Larnell Harris, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and many other artists.  We are having a blast recording and I think you all are gonna love the outcome.

I am continuing to write, every spare minute I have, and am excited to have songs coming out on new recordings by, The Hoppers, Karen Peck & New River, Jeff & Sheri Easter, Lauren Talley, Steve Ladd, Sisters and yes, The Booth Brothers.

Melissa and I enjoyed a wonderful concert in Davisburg, MI last week.  We were very blessed and encouraged by the support of many wonderful folks. Thanks so much to all who came out to spend the evening with us!

It’s always good to spend time with family and while in Michigan, I was able to spend a little time with my sister Brenda and her family.  We sang some old songs that we grew up singing in church. I also pulled out my guitar and sang some new songs I’ve been working on. It was a sweet time together!

A sold out concert at South Church in Lansing, MI was the highlight of this past weekend. That evening, a gentleman shared with me how he and his wife, of over 40 years, had been planning to come to the concert together, but that she passed away just 5 weeks ago.  He almost couldn’t bear to come without her, but said he came because he wanted to share with me how “Peace In The Shelter” has brought him the comfort and encouragement that he was desperately needing during this time. Wow!

Stories like that are why we keep climbing on the bus every weekend. Awards and having your songs do well on the charts are great blessings that sometimes come with what we do, but what’s most rewarding is knowing that the songs are touching hearts! So, thank you for coming to the concerts and sharing your stories, you are an encouragement to us!

Blessings to all!!

Jim

Summer Update from Kim

August 13, 2009

Hello Everyone,

Kim here – hope everyone has had a wonderful summer so far! The guys have had a very busy one packed with travel, a West Coast tour, and recording. Many of you may have already seen the announcement on our website or newsletter but we’ve just announced the release of the Jubilee project. This project was the brainchild of Michael, Gerald and Scott.  Our friends, Greater Vision and Legacy Five joined with us to record this ground breaking album. The three groups had a great time recording the songs together in the studio and all of us are excited about offering it to Gospel music fans.

The guys completed a West Coast tour – their first ever –at the end of June and were so pleased with the crowds and warm receptions from all the concert dates. They’re in the process now of laying the ground work for another one next year. Stay tuned to our blogs, website and newsletters for more information as it becomes available.

Our families are all doing great! The kids are growing up fast and as most of you know, the older they get, the busier mom and dad seem to get. Ronnie’s boys are in high school and, in fact, Ronnie Lee is in his senior year this year and Daniel JUST obtained his driver’s license so anyone living near Spring Hill, Tennessee – WATCH OUT!!!  Michael and Vicki’s boys are growing like weeds. Christian and Jonathan will be home schooled this year and Christian is currently traveling with the Booth Brothers helping with the setup of equipment, playing guitar and spending some very valuable time with his dad.

The wives stay very busy as well.  Vicki is a stay-at-home mom raising their three boys and homeschooling them. She is also very active in her church. You may have seen Jim’s wife, Melissa, at a concert this year singing with LordSong on the Mark Lowry tour, or with the Martins and now currently with the Hoppers. She’s also doing some dates of her own. Melissa is a talented singer and songwriter and she and Jim have a ministry together when Jim’s schedule allows. You can keep up with their songwriting, ministry and music atwww.jimandmelissabrady.com

Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the Younce and Willis families on the death of Dana Younce Willis.  We pray they might feel the comforting presence of our Lord during this very difficult time.

We would also like to ask that you keep the Booth family in prayer at this time – Priscilla’s mom, Ethelene, is 91 years old and is not expected to make it past the next 48 hours. She contracted pneumonia last week and her condition started deteriorating rapidly.  Ronnie, Michael and Melissa spent a lot of time with their grandparents while growing up and have some very cherished memories of them. Please keep their Papa, Virgle Ashburn, in your prayers as well…he’s been married to his sweetheart for 70 years.

Well, that’s about it for  now, folks…as a wife I want to thank all of you for your support of the guys and your emails of encouragement. We hope you make plans to see the guys when they come to your area – you can stay up to date on their schedule by checking out their MySpace page or their website – www.boothbrothers.com.

Ronnie’s Update from the Road

April 13, 2009

Hey folks, this is Ronnie talking to ya. Hope everyone is doing well. We’ve been on an extended tour in Canada with the Crist Family. We really enjoy singing for our Canadian friends!! They’ve always been so gracious and kind to us. Fortunately, the weather has been good and we haven’t had any problems. For those of you who haven’t seen the Crist Family in concert, I want to encourage you to attend one of their programs as soon as possible. They’re a class act. Their music is top notch. I’m very impressed with their talent. It is also evident they have a passion to be used by the Lord to touch the lives of those in attendance. And to top it all off, their just plain FUN!!! I think we’ve all gone out for pizza after at least three of the concerts we’ve done together. I’m sure my doctor will be pleased to hear I’ve been eating pizza at 1:00 in the morning!! Wonder why I’m gaining weight?!

After we finish tonight in Calgary Alberta we all head to Kelowna British Columbia for Sunday night and then Chilliwack BC for a Monday night performance. Before we arrive back home in Nashville, we’re gonna stop off and sing for our friends in Osage Beach, MO. That was the date we missed when we found ourselves stuck smack dab in the middle of a blizzard in Wyoming. Just think about that, Jim and I stuck on our bus for FOUR LONG DAYS with Michael!!!!! We would appreciate your prayers for safe travels home for us and the Crist Family. I’m goin’ in for soundcheck now. I’ll be sure and keep you posted!

In the Lamb,

Ronnie
